The Exhibition of HandCrafts and Palace artisan workshops and their clients, now in its 24th edition, will be held from May 17 to 20, 2018 at the Corsini Garden in Florence.

The new selection of about 100 Italian and foreign master craftsmen will be the protagonist for four days in the Limonaie, along the avenues of the monumental Garden and in the new space of the Monti delle Monache, where the protagonists of Artigianato and Palazzo will realize live demonstrations of manual work, transmitting to the public the rich heritage of knowledge and use of the techniques that make their work unique.

The contest “Blog & Crafts, the young artisans and the web”, which focuses on and promotes the creativity and artistic expression of the young generations, reaches the fifth edition. For the first time the 10 artisans under 35 winners of the competition will be hosted in a special Limonaia completely renovated where they can work and exhibit their creations. At the same time, the brightest bloggers selected for the 2018 edition will tell live blogging throughout the exhibition, the artisans and its most salient features.

Among the unmissable initiatives at HandCrafts and Palace “Family Recipes” – created in collaboration with Richard Ginori, Riccardo Barthel and Desinare – gastronomic appointment by the journalist Annamaria Tossani, which for this edition will be inspired by some historical objects preserved in the Museum of Shower and today little used . It will be an opportunity to return to put the equipment and the pleasantness of the table decoration at the center of attention. Every day at 18.00 in the Giardinetto delle Rose some illustrious guests will tell anecdotes about the history of the objects and propose recipes that will be interpreted by the chefs of Desinare and offered for tasting to the public on new porcelain dishes specially created for the initiative by Richard Ginori.

In addition, every day at 7.00pm the “Mani che componono” dates are a project by multi-instrumentalist cellist Naomi Berrill who connects crafts and music, through a series of itineraries through different crafts, in which music will change depending on the various processes that are encountered and the atmosphere that each individual craftsman will be able to share with the musician: from prebarocca music to contemporary jazz, through the most sophisticated pop, the classic of the ‘900 and the colors of Irish folk.

At the Corsini Garden, another novelty of this edition, you can find the food trucks of some of the best Italian taste artisans for a gastronomic experience between street food and regional culinary traditions: LùBar that offers the authentic Sicilian arancini, La Toraia with its specialties based on Chianina meat, Pescepane with exquisite dishes based on seafood, Il Panino Tondo offering sophisticated sandwiches for all tastes, even vegetarians, La Pentolina which will serve pastries and coffee for breakfast and aperitifs at sunset, Bocconi di Lamporecchio that prepares the traditional “brigidini” and other fanciful sweets, Vivoli that produces homemade ice cream since 1929.

During the HandCrafts and Palace the “Perseo – Banca CR Firenze” Prize will also be awarded to the exhibitor most appreciated by the public and the “Prize of the Promoting Committee” for the most beautiful booth judged by the International Promoter Committee.
