Forte di Belvedere is open throughout August (except Mondays) and there’s no better time to take in Antony Gormley’s acclaimed exhibition ‘Human,’ exploring the connections between art, anatomy and space. Turner Prize winner Gormley chose Forte di Belvedere for its past defensive functions and symbolic implications of power and force. The show features life-size sculptures purposefully dispersed throughout the site, ‘encouraging the viewer to think about who they are and how they negotiate the spaces around them.’
